What Grocery Stores are in Whitehorse, Yukon?

 

Upon arriving to start your Overland Yukon adventure you will find that our vehicles are stocked with all the camping essentials including a cooler, dual burner stove, jet boil, pots, frying pan, kettle, cutlery set, and much more. In order to put all these kitchen appliances to good use however you will need to stock up on food! We have compiled a list of Yukon grocery stores so you can have everything you need to explore the Yukon on a full stomach. 

1. Superstore

Superstore, located centrally downtown Whitehorse, is a one-stop shop for all things big and bulk. This is where we suggest you load up on the staple items. Water jugs, pasta, fruits and vegetables, Superstore has it all. The prices are hard to beat and it’s known as one of the cheaper options in town.

2. Riverside Grocery

This cute local shop is infamously known for selling a little bit of everything. You may have to squeeze through some of the aisles but it is worth it for the treasures you will find. Although Riverside is a conventional grocery store it also carries a wide selection of organic, vegan, fair trade, whole food and specialty items. The family-owned and operated shop provides Yukoners and guests with a taste of the healthy and hard to find food.

3. Save On Foods

Another grocery chain that is available in the Yukon is Save on Foods. The store has similar offerings to Superstore but with a few exciting additions. Specialty fish, meat, and baked goods that are pre-seasoned, cooked and cut for ease of access. This can make it easy for campers to grab and go while avoiding pre-packaged frozen options. As a result, you can stock up on a variety of pre-prepared items and spend more time relaxing on your trip.

4. Walmart

Yes! The Yukon has a Walmart. Although it does not offer any fresh produce and is limited in its frozen section, the store does have a variety of non-perishable items making it easy to stock up on s’mores kits. Walmart also offers its wide selection of products in case you forgot to pack anything.
