The Gift Of Adventure
There is a lot of pressure associated with buying presents for those we care about. After some time, you’d like to give a gift that makes those you love feel close to you. Material items do not hold much appeal, because like you, what your family and friends truly wish for is for more opportunities to be together. Instead of buying holiday presents or birthday gifts this year, consider putting that money towards a trip to the Yukon this summer to create a memory that will unite you all.
Research shows that connections are sparked by shared experiences - especially those that involve novelty and unfamiliarity. On an Overland Yukon adventure, families will create a long-lasting legacy of memories with their tribe. Couples will grow their intimacy through new adventures and experiences that they will share forever. Friends will have the opportunity to rekindle their bonds to make up on lost time.
In the end, we don’t remember what presents we got for our anniversaries or our birthdays. What we remember are the experiences and bonds that have shaped our lives. Regardless of the occasion or who you’re travelling with, there is no better gift you can give yourself or your loved ones than the gift of adventure.
Coordinating a group trip on your own can be challenging. Thankfully, Overland Yukon makes planning your Yukon adventure hassle-free, irrespective of the number of people in your party. Providing vans and Overland jeeps fitted with rooftop tents and all-inclusive camping gear, you’ll have everything you need to accommodate your group’s travel needs. We’re here to help you escape the familiar, build connection, relive old memories, and create those truly hilarious moments that you’ll tell stories about for years. It's important that this time is meaningful for you.
Bring everyone together and propose the idea, then create a group chat to start planning. This will not only give you something to look forward to together, but it will give you reasons to stay connected all the months leading up to your trip. Make matching tee-shirts, map out your itineraries, and share in the excitement that you’ll soon be creating other-worldly experiences in one of the most beautiful places on earth. The Yukon’s untouched wilderness will offer plenty of opportunities for self-discovery as well as group intimacy. Sit around the campfire and share old stories with your buddies. Hike up Caribou Mountain together and find spontaneity, romance, and passion in your relationship as your adventure challenges unfold.
Once you’ve finalized your dates, it is now time to buy your plane tickets, select your party’s vehicle(s), and divide travel costs. To make things easier on you, Overland Yukon offers to book flights for you and include them in the price of your travel package. Overland Yukon jeeps can hold up to five people, while vans can hold up to three. The jeeps sleep three people comfortably and can squeeze four (if you’re close friends and comfortable in tight quarters). The vans sleep up to two people comfortably and are equipped with a double bed, but a third person can sleep on a sleeping pad in the van hallway. You have the option to book with multiple credit cards, making booking easy for your friends and family.
The excitement of first arriving at your adventure destination is unlike anything else since it is no longer a fantasy - it’s being brought to reality. This is how your tribe will feel when you first land in Whitehorse. At the airport, you will be met at the airport by an Overland Yukon chief exploration officer (CEO) who will help you with the packing of your vehicle(s). Having completed this smooth process, you and your group can begin on the road and start cultivating those adventures.
You will already feel how immensely special your trip is about to be within minutes of driving through Yukon's vast wilderness. In addition to the breathtaking scenery, this is a moment where you'll officially be grateful that you gave yourself the gift of adventure. From exploring Yukon’s spectacular wildlife with your tribe to confiding in personal conversations around the campfire, each moment you experience together will hold just as much meaning to you as it does your friends or loved ones. Don't let moments go by without soaking in their value and take every moment as it comes. You are more important to one another than you realize, and this time is rare.
Most importantly, take pictures and videos to capture those random, silly moments throughout the trip. Down times and unexpected moments usually become some of the most treasured memories years down the road. From hiking the alpine peaks in Kluane National Park and Reserve to enjoying your morning coffees together by clear blue Fish Lake, you’ll want to document it all. These memories are priceless. After all, there are seldom things more special in life than a mind-opening and spirit-lifting adventure with the people you love.
